2012....the all new ladyfieza?

2012. If i'm not mistaken, last few years were very ironic and funny years. Everyone's babbling
and debating about how the world will end in 2012. Some say a meteor will come crashing on Earth,
as how a huge meteorite crashed on Earth like a thousand million billion years ago. Some say
it'll just end like that, with a snap of a finger. Movie makers started gushing out their ideas and
of coz, mullas (which means money of coz) to create scenes that might happen when the 2012 disaster arrive.
Like the movie 2012? I'm not a big fan of the movie much, but... eeehhhhhh... u know.... so-so.
But i'm glad the puppy in that movie is safe and sound. If he drowns in that ship, i will curse the director.
Forgive me, i'm an animal lover.
2012. The girl whose name is Ladyfieza has awaken. And she is in a different realm. A realm of motherhood. To think that she now has a small princess to take care of....her own flesh and blood. Such a gift from Allah is to be loved and pampered. She is after all, my precious...... (with the gollum slang there, mind you). I am very thankful to be married to Dicky Ishkandar. We have our ups and downs, yes. We met wwaaaayyyyy before. Since the first time i spoke to him, to ask him about his health. Hahahhahah it was cool. We laughed, we cried, we joked, we argued together. We broke off, we came back, we clased, we came back. And finally, we came back for good. God is Great. Alhamdulillah. We're very happy together, with Little Adawiyah. Although i admit, at this very moment, we're having a little trouble, but heck...that will never put us down. InsyaAllah, things will be alright. We're doing okay. :)

2012. Did you know that i have not touched my pens, pencils and papers since i got married and little Adawiyah came along? Right, 2 years! *nods* and what happens when i want to start drawing The Cavaliers? Right, my hands are kind of stiff! *shakes head in despair* I miss my arts, i miss my characters ; the Cavaliers, so bad. I created them since i was in high school, and i'm attached to them ever since. They're my babies. I miss them so much. I need to start back drawing. I gotta! Their adventures hangs by a thread. So many things happened, bad, worse, worst. I made my art career go down in jeopardy. Just because of my laziness, chronic procrastinating and of course, low self-esteem. I admit, I was not confident with myself before. I get edgy when everyone else managed to publish their work, and not me. I guess part of me tries too hard to be that person in her dreams ; a well-respected comic book artist. I would like to start drawing again. I miss my friends too. Jennifer, Jim Main, John Lambert, Wally Lowe, doc Boucher, Sam.... and more. I miss a lot of people. Another reason i'm a little late in coming back is because I am afraid so much that my friends will not like me any more. that my friends will think that i am nothing but a loser. Yes, i admit it again. And i'm being frank now. Now i just want to fix my life again, my art life. My hobby, my career. I wish that my friends will give me that second chance. I've been knocked down a lot of times, but i will come back again. Will you guys give me a second chance?

2012. I am going to look for a job now. Yup. I have a kid and a family to take care now. "With great power comes great responsibility." Heard that before? It's Spidey of course. I think i do have great power. It's within me. And the responsibility is too much to bear. With great power, comes great responsibility. You're so damn right, Pete. I will try my best to show my quality, myself. My husband told me that. "Show them your quality."

Sorry for yapping and babbling. It's been 2 years since i last babble in a blog. Hahaha. :D The good old days..... :)

Goodbye 2008, hello 2009

It's kind of sad that 2008 is leaving us all. In about 45 minutes time, the baby 2009 will appear and start saying bye bye to old man 2008. Recapping back the year before, there has been tremendous change, tears, happiness, awesomeness and all sorts mingled in my so-called life. I broke up, i met new friends, i got quite a few freelance project, i was way behind my Cavaliers #2 schedule, I quit my job as an illustrator, i bought over RM1000 worth of comics, i had a crush on someone 6 years older than me but it fizzles off, i haven't been drawing much lately this year and i guess because there's no motivation, i was given a post in the Pekomik, the organization of comic enthusiasts as the treasurer, i have a great family at Main Enterprise (that i sometimes leave behind a few months due to very bad time management) and lots more things happening. Needless to say, i have learn a lot of new things, experience crazy and extreme emotions and i feel rather happy about it. I hope that 2009 will be so much better and iam looking forward to being a new person. I will be officially 30 years old on September 17th 2009. Wow. 30 years old. Scary.

You've been a great year, 2008. Love you lots. (hugs the old man 2008)

I hope so. I've been pretty idle for years. Haven't come out with a comic book. Sad to say. I think i'm kind of scared to admit that i might have artist's block. LOL XD! Well, i hope i can fight that off soon. going to draw and draw and be like the old times. Cheerio!

The road to success

Need to click on the pic to see what it really means. Salute to the guy who did this! :D

Missing Noor...

It's very nice and you tend to feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that you have friends who really care about you and your well-being.

My friends in the states from Main Enterprises were so happy to see me back in their group. :)

These are the posts that went on during my long absence...

Noor seems to have difficulty telling anyone "No" when they ask her to do something... i know from experience that that is a quick way to getting yourself over-committed and ending up not making anyone happy...

sam!

Thanx, you guys. You're the coolest dudes in my block! ^___^ *big hugs!!*

A brand new day

As of a few weeks ago ( i don't remember and i intend not to ) i left Cerdik Publications for a greener pasture. I am now back to being a full time freelancer. I had such bad times in the company. With so many back stabbings and bad-mouths and under-appreciative eyes ( not to mention double agents and spies about )around, no wonder so many people left the company. And they actually made it big out there. I'm one of the staff to leave alright. Unintentionally, but drastically leave.

I'm tired of being the subject of ridicule and blame. Hey i can't help it if I'm an outgoing and rebellious person. Maybe because i hang out with the guys often. I dunno. Another thing is that... i worked my buns off just to produce illustrations for school kids. Making sure that the artwork will make them smile. My intention is to educate the kids at the same time entertain them. It's very disappointing when they were arguing about my strokes, saying it's not appropriate. Huum... no one complained the last 6 months. Why now? So there is something fishy going on. True enough, i heard that they are going to sake me for good. To get a more cheaper illustrator because they can't afford me. Not that my salary is the lowest in the company anyway. No joke. So to get even, i decided to resign before they fire me. Nobody predicted this but who cares? I just went off. Tata. Adios. Slitzweitz. Sayonara. Selamat tinggal. And all that.

It's been 2 weeks since i left. Guess what? Right after i left, i managed to get 3 projects. :) Yup. 3. Thanks to my buddy and great friend ( an a pirate ) Abang Zamri, he guide me to various companies in need of illustrators. The first one was from SJ Group of Companies. Mr.Faisal wanted me to create a children's book based on his 7 year old son Rayyan. It's called The Dreamy Adventures of Rayyan. Which sounds pretty interesting. Next was the Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka ( http://dbp.gov.my/indek_dbp.html )project. Adapting the Malaysian history and legends into comic form. Which sounds very cool and challenging. If the project kicks off, i hope i can be one of them. It'll be a pioneer project so... you get the idea how excited i am. :)Then another project. This time i am approached by 2 ustaz ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulema ) who also happens to be cartoonists ( way cool! ) as well. They want to find girl comic artist and it's so hard to find one. Enter Abang Syem and he recommended me to them. They want me to creat 3 muslims girls to be made into a comic for girls. Well, they need a girl to draw a girl's comic right? So i accept the challenge. :)

Pretty exciting life i am going through now. Now that the pc is fixed ( it got struck by lightning and the phone line went dead ), all i need to do is to install a few softwares ( boy do i need to learn InDesign )and some other stuffs and voila! I can start doing my work! this time i really need to keep myself in check because i do still owe Uncle Jim ( Hahahahahha i feel like saying that ) a few comics. And i mean a few. *gulps* Wow, i will be quite busy, and that's a good thing. :)

Romantic vs the Unromantic

I got this from a forward email to me. It's pretty funny. =D

***

I love your smile, your face, and your eyes

Damn, I'm good at telling lies!

***

My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife:

Marrying you screwed up my life.

***

I see your face when I am dreaming.

That's why I always wake up screaming.

***

Oh loving beauty, you float with grace

If only you could hide your face.

***

Kind, intelligent, loving and hot

This describes everything you are not.

***

I want to feel your sweet embrace

But don't take that paper bag off of your face.

***

My love, you take my breath away.

What have you ... in to ... this way?

***

Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss

But I only ... ... , because I was ....

***
My feelings for you no words can tell

Except for maybe "Go To Hell".

***

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and
so are you.

But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the
sugar bowl's empty and so is your head

***

What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime.

First day at the gym...

..was a success, more or less.

I decided to join in this all-girl gym because i realized a few things happening in me. First, my waistline is getting very large, i haven't been moving much since i started working, i have been getting sick and fainting spells easily lately, and the ultimate... i can't wear my clothes anymore!!!

So the first thing was the treadmill. Ok, no big deal. I was on it for half an hour. When i got off, i felt like the world is coming after me and i can't seem to stand still. WOAH! Talk about first time! O_O I managed to get my balance, then on towards that cycling machine. Ok, another half an hour. Oh dear my legs were hurting. Managed to survive, i felt a little lighter. Then on towards the normal gym equipments. Pretty nifty. after all that, i felt a little lighter, and also my reflexes seemed to be a little faster too, which was incredible. See i'm typing this pretty faster than before. :p LOL XD

Hopefully i can keep up with the gym. I just wanna have a healthy life that's all. The stress and everything, the work, so i figured the gym can really release it all in one go, in a healthy way.

My goal? I would so love to wear my old clothes back! LOL XD!!!!

Brush of death

When people say don't bring your frustrations on the road, they mean it.

I nearly fell off a bridge trying to chase a crazed woman driver, because she drove like mad next to me. I kept tailgating her and i could not lose her from my sight. Already that stress and tensions that i kept in me were all getting out through my driving. I felt an adrenaline rush when i avoided 4 cars from colliding and crashing in them.

After all that, i cooled down and realized i was trying to kill myself.

I was very much stressed these few days. It took me long to realize that i was working on other people's folio than my own. I have not started on working on mine. And plus, my in-house deadline was long due. Editors were all angry at me. At one point i was preparing to even get a 'you're fired!' letter from the boss above. I had so many things to do in so little time and i was very much drowning.

*sigh*

Life must go on.

Firefighter uses CPR to save tiny dog

WEST MONROE, La. - A firefighter performed mouth-to-snout resuscitation and revived a small dog he found lifeless in a burning mobile home.

When firefighters arrived at the blaze in northeastern Louisiana Friday, a resident of the house approached firefighter Stephen "Odie" Odom and told him two dogs were trapped inside.

Odom entered the house and found the two tiny terriers in pet carriers in a smoke-filled room, and shuttled them to safety.

When he removed one of the dogs from its carrier, Odom noticed it was not breathing and its tongue was hanging out. The firefighter removed his face mask and placed the dog's head inside so the oxygen could blow in its face.

When the oxygen didn't work, Odom began performing CPR on the dog by "cupping my hands around the dog's snout and blowing until I could feel his chest expand," he said.

"I then did chest compressions similar to that of infant CPR. After approximately one minute of doggie CPR, I noticed the dog trying to breathe on its own."

Five minutes later the dog began looking around and was given to the owner of the house. An oxygen tank was left with the animal.

Fire Prevention Officer Curt Meachum said he was glad the dog's life was spared.

"We do not know the dog's name, but we could just call it 'Lucky,'" Meachum said.
